2012 Panini NFL Player of the Day: Beat The Blogger

Beginning this week will be the 2012 Panini NFL Player of the Day promotion here on Sports Card Blog. We have a ton of prizes that we are giving away, from packs of NFL Player of the Day cards, commemorative sets, autographs, fun man/girl cave items, and even a hobby box of cards.

The theme of this year’s promotion is going to be “Beat the Blogger”. I will be posting contests every Thursday once again this year, for the games slated on Sundays and Mondays. I will also be posting my own answers for the contest. If you beat me, you get one entry into the monthly and grand prizes. The person with the highest score will win the weekly prizes. Pretty simple.

Make sure you look out for special ways to get entries and look out for our giveaways we will be having on our Twitter and Facebook pages during the promotion for some extra free stuff.

All I ask in return for running this program is you click the banner and check out the official Panini Player of the Day website. There, you can find out more about the hobby shop portion of the program and get involved.

So get ready for another great season of contests and prizes. It’s a little easier this year to get involved, so let’s have some fun.

Sports Card Blog – Panini NFL Player of the Day Week 9 Winner

The ninth week of this contest is has ended with only a couple more weeks left in the month of November for your chance at a box of 2011 Panini Threads football and the grand prize of a Panini Black Box.

This week was a Pick’Em challenge for a Panini NFL Player of the Day t-shirt and a set of Panini NFL Player of the Day cards. Let’s check out the standings…

Evan – 10 (Tiebreaker!)
RJ R. – 10
Madison V. – 9
Weirdmaniac – 9
Matt G. – 9
Michael G. – 9
Patrick P. – 8
Jay R. – 8
KJ L. – 6
Shane K. – 6
Edwin G. – 6

Congratulations to Evan L. for winning this week’s contest! It was a close one coming down to the final game and how many yards Aaron Rodgers ended up throwing for.

The leaderboard will be updated shortly.

And remember, I may add in a little secret contest around Thanksgiving time surrounding those ever popular Thanksgiving games for some bonus points…

Sports Card Blog – Panini NFL Player of the Day Week 6 Winner

Well, this was a harder contest then I had envisioned. I’ll start with Thomas Jones, the Kansas City depth chart had him listed as their number one when I decided to design this contest. I had no idea that was changed, so I apologize for that. I thought this would be something that everyone would get some points in, but that definitely wasn’t the case as points were hard to come by. I’ll think of something better for you guys next week in our October finale.

Anyway, congratulations goes out to Jay R. who barely beat KJ L. who was once again near the top of leaderboards. Jay R. will receive a giant Matt Cassel bobblehead for his in depth knowledge and premier guessing skills of the Kansas City Chiefs game yesterday. Who thought that Oakland would roll over and not put a point on the board?

Here are this week’s standings. The leaderboard page will be updated soon.

Jay R. – 8 (Winner!)
KJ L. – 7
Michael G. – 4
Shane K. – 4
Weirdmaniac – 3
RJ R. – 3
Madison V. – 2
Edwin G. – 2
Matt G. – 1
Nick L. – 0

So yeah, pretty low scoring week.

But I will make up for that. Expect the possibilities for BIG points next week in a fantasy football style challenge requested by Matt G. This will be the opportunity for EVERYONE to get back into the game. Stay tuned!

Sports Card Blog – Panini NFL Player of the Day Week 5 Contest

Week 5 of the promotion is here, we are just about at the halfway point. There will be 11 contests so there really is no halfway point, but you know what I mean. Anyway, with Week 5 comes a different type of Pick ‘Em style contest testing your skills on team in each division. I was going to have a special contest based around a prize I wanted to give out this week, but the team I would be running the contest around has a bye this week. So instead, we have this…

Divisional Hi-Lo Pick ‘Em

Basically it works like this. Pick, by division, which team in that division will score the most points (HI) and the least points (LO). And also predict the score. So your response would look like this, for every NFL division.

AFC East:

Hi – Buffalo (38)

Lo – New England (3)

And then so on for the AFC North, AFC South, AFC West, and then the same for the NFC. You will get one point for guessing the correct team and a bonus point if you guess the correct amount of points for each team. So you have the opportunity to score 16 points, although that would be very impressive.

Get it? Every division in the AFC and NFC, team with the highest and lowest score, and the score you think it will be. Remember, there are 6 teams on a bye this week. If you need a schedule, you can click here.

The winner will receive an official Wincraft NFC felt pennant featuring the NFC’s greatest stars. And it’s pretty big too. I’ll have a video up of the prizes by the weekend.

If you have any questions, please send me an email and I’ll explain it more if you don’t understand what I’m asking. Good luck! This one will be tough! And if you haven’t visited the official Panini NFL Player of the Day site or you haven’t looked again because you want me to win the best promotion, please click the banner to visit the site!

And in case you missed the announcement on the Facebook page or the Twitter page, anyone who does not win a prize throughout the duration of this promotion will be randomized to win one of 3 handmade mystery packs featuring some base, inserts, and a game used card from a recent Panini review! This is to thank more of you for participating and visiting the NFL Player of the Day site!
