Platinum League Trading Cards Series I Checklist

With Platinum League trading cards set to be released on May 1, 2012, we were able to grab a preliminary checklist featuring 88 of the artists that will be featured.

Check out the Platinum League Series I checklist. The original press release stated 100 cards, so it looks like there are a few more that need to be added.

(Note: Mindless Behavior was recently added.)

I know a bunch of names on this list so that’s a good start. There is obviously a lot of talent missing, but with products released every 3 months you want to save some talent for every release.

Besides top artists out there like Eminem, Jay-Z, etc., here are a few names I would like to see on future checklists.

Apathy

Stylez of Beyond

Joen

Andre Nickatina

Kellee Maize

Nick Javas

Preview: Platinum League Trading Cards Series I

I’m all about interesting and new concepts. New ideas can really change the way products are created. That is why I’ve taken on previewing a product away from the norm of sports trading cards and will be writing about this product.

The Platinum League trading cards is a product with some creative new ideas to trading cards.  To start, this product features some nice designs of popular rap/hip-hop artists such as Notorious B.I.G., Twista, Tupac, Snoop Dogg and more. Each card features a nicely designed photo of the artist with the back featuring some biographical stats.

But here is what is new and interesting about it. The back of each trading card will feature a QR code that you can scan with your smart phone. After downloading the app that reads the code and you scan it, it will bring you to an exclusive video message from the artist as well as exclusive songs and ringtones from that artist.

But that isn’t all you can get from buying a 5 card pack of this product. Every pack will contain a 6th card which will contain a code to enter online that will win you instant prizes or enter you into sweepstakes for items like cars, money, Rolex watches, or backstage passes to concerts. There will be about 3 million prizes given away every 3 months, which will be when the newest series of cards will be released.

May 1st, 2012, is the official release date of this product which you will be able to find in retail stores nationwide like Target, Toys ‘R Us, and Wal-Mart.

For more information on this product you can go to the official Platinum League website or visit their official Facebook and Twitter sites.

(Addition: There will be a limited number of autographed cards as well.)
