Panini has renewed a product that collectors liked so much last year in 2012-13 Panini Past & Present Basketball.
One set that collectors should look for is the Elusive Ink set. This set will feature some of the toughest Autographs to find in the sport.
Another interesting autograph set will be the Modern Marks autographs. It’s a very clean design and Panini says it’s improved the design even more and the autograph list will be expanded and better for this years product! Also look for the Gamers patch cards. As you can see a little further down the page, these cards have a sharp design and could feature some sick patches of player such as Kobe Bryant.
And of course, collectors should be looking for the rookie cards. Make sure you look for top rookies like Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, Anthony Davis and others.
Each box contains 20 packs with 6 cards per pack. In each box, it will contain 3 autograph cards per box.
You can find the product at DA Card World for around $90 when it releases May 1, 2013.
You can also find the checklist on Cardboard Connection and more information on the official Panini America blog.
With this full season of NBA products scheduled for Panini, it’s time to get into the nitty gritty of the basketball season and the product that accompany it. 2012-13 Panini Threads basketball is back this year and with it is the return of a collector’s favorite. With a couple new twists to the product, it should be able to keep the interest of those collectors.
Panini Threads features 24 packs per box at 5 cards per pack. Also included inside the packs is 3 autographs and 1 memorabilia card per box. I like Panini’s stance on more autographs and less memorabilia that they have been incorporating the past couple of years.
The autographs will mostly consist of the 100 rookies that are inserted into the product due to the combined rookie class in basketball products. Each of the rookies is printed on a wood stock and features an on-card autograph. You’ll find all your big names from the last couple of years, and a few others.
Some of the highlights of the product include the die-cut team jersey signatures, rookie team threads signatures, and the Private Signings autographed insert set as well as some prime memorabilia inserts.
This product releases on October 24, 2012, to the tune of around $100.

Releasing today is the second product of the 2012-13 Panini basketball season in Panini Prestige basketball. With a full season of basketball for fans and collectors to enjoy, this year will have a great combination of cards of rookies and second year players that is second to none in recent sports card history. Not since the last NHL lockout has sports cards had such a deep rookie class of cards.
And 2012-13 Prestige is there to showcase those players and your favorite veterans along the way. With three autographs and one memorabilia card per box, Panini is bringing the ink with the rookies as well. You’ll also be finding one rookie card per pack with 100 rookie cards to be found in the set from this season and last.
The highlights of the autographs those are both the rookie autographs as well as a couple of subsets. Old School Autographs and Distinctive Ink cards feature nice and clean on card autographs of some of your favorite players of today and the past. And of course, you’ll have your Panini exclusive athletes as well like Kobe, Durant, Wall, and Irving.
You’ll also find a few surprises in Prestige this year as well. With a bonus 5 card Kobe Anthology pack, you can work on your set of Kobe cards that you started when you opened Hoops. After that, you’ll find a sweepstakes entry for your chance to win a trip to the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA.
With Prestige releasing today for just under $100 and the huge list of solid rookies from the last two years, it’s going to be hot to get your hands on. For more information and a complete checklist, check out the Cardboard Connection product information page.
Today, Panini released images of the first autographed Phil Jackson trading card that was included as a redemption in 2010-11 Panini National Treasures basketball. 14 total redemption cards were created for the 2010-11 Panini National Treasures basketball set and they results are fantastic.
Here is one example of the three different cards created by Panini America…Phil Jackson and Kobe Bryant.
It’s hard to believe that the guy with 11 NBA Championships never had an autographed card before this season.
The other two autographed cards feature one with Phil Jackson and Dennis Rodman, while the other features Phil Jackson with Rodman, Tony Kukoc, and Ron Harper. Since Michael Jordan is currently in an exclusive contract with Upper Deck, a Phil Jackson/Michael Jordan dual autographed trading card is a still just a dream.
But I think a Kobe with Phil is just as great.

While it’s the second product to come out for the NBA season from the folks at Panini, it is surely going to be the most widely opened product of the short season. 2011-12 Panini NBA Hoops basketball is being brought back from the dead and will feature everything you loved about the set in the past, mixed with everything you love about cards today, and a few surprises.
The set is there. 279 cards to fill out the base set that features a ton of players on each roster. Have a hard time finding cards of your player in most sets? Hoops will probably have it. For instance, I’ll be looking for some Nicolas Batum. There will also be a special “Champions” base card to round out the set that is kind of a chase card, making the full set a fun challenge to complete.
Something you love about today? There is a 179 card autograph subset also in this set surely to make you go crazy looking for autographs. While each hobby box will feature two autographs, you may get lucky and pull one from some of the top players in the game. You may find a Kobe Bryant, Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, or Dirk Nowitski autograph lurking in your box. You may also find some original buyback autographs of autographs on card from the 1989-90 NBA Hoops original set.
Did I mention yet that the price for this product is about $2 per pack in hobby form? Yeah, we’re liking that here. Get ready on March 3rd, 2012, for your NBA Hoops revival.
Make sure you visit Panini’s blog for the official preview and stay tuned for more information about this product there.
