The Newly Added Topps Diamond 1/1 Cards

Recently Topps has added new Diamond 1/1 cards of 4 standout rookies from this past season in Dustin Ackley, Eric Hosmer, Mike Trout, and Michael Pineda.

These are in addition to the hundreds of other diamond 1/1 cards that are available to be won on the Topps Diamond Anniversary site.

Was one of your codes lucky enough to pull one of these new rookies or other cards? What have you thought about the Diamond Giveaway by Topps?

Personally, I was able to snag 3 diamond die-cuts of Red Sox players as I mentioned here my Josh Beckett version and I think those cards are beautiful. I wasn’t lucky enough to get a black diamond parallel or a diamond embedded card but that’s alright with me. I have these beautiful die-cuts.

Preview: 2011 Topps Update & Highlights Baseball

As always, Topps is here at the end of the season to bring you all the highlight of the past season with all the big games, big trades, and big rookies to make an impact on the 2011 baseball season.

The base design is the same as Topps Series I and II, just a forewarning. Each box will contain 1 autograph or 1 relic card and the full set is 330 cards.

But you can find 192 players with cards on their new teams, 55 rookies who were not in Series I or II, and some highlights from the season including the All-Star Game, Home Run Derby, and some Record Breakers this season.

For the base cards, there are parallels numbered to 1, 50, 60, and 2011. Again, you will find diamond parallels as well with all their sparkly goodness. As has been seen over the past few seasons, you will be able to find inserts featuring relics from the All-Star game including regular jersey and patch cards, some of them autographed. You will also be able to find the Topps 60 continuity program once again with relics and autographed versions.

So really, there isn’t much difference between this product or Topps Series I and II besides the addition of several rookies, some different Topps 60 cards, and some highlights from throughout the season.

This product should be out today, October 5th, 2011, for just under $60.

Wow I Can’t Write Today

I want to keep my daily postings going. It’s been great posting every day. I have some great ideas I can type up and put out to all of you. Just now, I tried typing out one of those ideas.

Have you ever had a day where everything you attempt to do just doesn’t work out the way you want it to? That is today. I had half an article written out and it looked like crap. Thoughts were jumbled everywhere and it was barely coherent. So today I will not write anything useful. Instead, I’m just going to post a sweet Diamond Die-Cut I traded for on Diamond Topps and promote my contest.

There is still time to get in my contest. Okay, pimping of my contest done.

Now some Diamond Die-Cut action…assuming nobody else tries to trade me (26) 1987 Wally Joyners for it. I may take it this time…..NOT.

Josh Beckett is all pretty and diamondy and what not. Still would prefer a Jon Lester.

Seriously, why is EVERYONE trying to get my 1985 Pete Rose? Is it because it was the year I was born? Is it because that’s the year he broke the hit record? Inquiring minds want to know. Someone offered me some early 70s cards for it. Might take it.

If anyone has any specific wants in the Diamond Giveaway please let me know. I can trade for your wants with other people and then send them off to you. I have ZERO interest in vintage cards and I’m just looking for some DDC cards to trade around. I have some 50s, 60s, and 70s available for those.

I am here for you all.

NOTE: I even just tried to Publish this and apparently hit Save Draft. I should just go back to bed for the day.
