It’s President’s Day, and in three days will be release of Famous Fabrics’ 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW trading card product.

With only 240 boxes being produced and two cut signatures per box, with at least one being a former US President, this high end product will feature just what political and trading card collectors out there want…the cut autographs.

You will be able to find cuts of John F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, and many other popular former Presidents.

Besides Presidents, you might find some cut autographs from Vice Presidents, Cabinet Members, former First Ladies, and even more former White House residents or frequent visitors.

February 23, 2012, in three days, try to find one of these scarce boxes and celebrate President’s Day in style this year.

Preview: 2011 Panini Limited Baseball

Sitting on my desk in my man-cave is a box. This box is black, empty, and features Hall of Famer Willie Mays on it. If you guessed that the box was an old box of 2005 Leaf Limited baseball, you have guessed correctly. The last Limited product from the former Donruss trading card company, since acquired by Panini. But not anymore. This post the other day from Panini shows the revival of a once great product.

So now, let’s get to the good stuff. Each box of 2011 Panini Limited baseball will contain 3 autographs or memorabilia cards, guaranteeing at least 2 autographs per box. These autographs will be a cross spectrum from top prospects, current MLB stars like Josh Hamilton, Dustin Pedroia, and Matt Kemp, and baseball legends like Ken Griffey Jr., Cal Ripken Jr., and Don Mattingly.

You may also find cut autographs, numbered to 5 or less, of former baseball players, other sports players, and even entertainment and politics. A definite crowd pleaser here would be a cut autograph from George Steinbrenner, former New York Yankees owner.

Another cool subset is Rawlings Gold Glove Signatures, which will feature chunks of real 14k gold and autographs from former Gold Glove winners. Maybe you’ll find some real silver in the Silver Sluggers Signatures subset? Or maybe you’ll find some game used material cards from players like “Shoeless” Joe Jackson, Lou Gehrig, or Ty Cobb. Speaking of game used cards, when’s the last time you’ve seen pieces of game used helmets embedded into baseball cards or buttons? 2011 Panini Limited baseball will bring it all back.

Coming this April, 2011 Panini Limited baseball will be back in it’s full glory and I will be happy to have it back.

Preview: 2011 Panini Prime Cuts Baseball

Donruss (Panini) is back! One of the most revered baseball products ever created is coming back to form under the Panini label and will be bringing the heat in March. March will be known for a few things now, St. Patty’s Day, Spring Training, and Prime Cuts baseball.

With Panini’s new MLBPA licensing and their freshly minted National Baseball Hall of Fame license, this product is ready to be filled with your every want and desire (besides MLB logos).

March 15, 2012, is the day to get ready for baseball fans. Every box will contain 5 cards with at least 2 of them being autographs while the other cards being game worn memorabilia pieces. Want to know some names involved? I can’t wait to tell you.

You might find say, a 1/1 bat barrel piece of players such as “Shoeless” Joe Jackson, Pete Rose, Ted Williams, Nellie Fox, or Roger Maris. Or maybe you prefer cut signatures from players like Lou Gehrig, Ty Cobb, Jackie Robinson, Thurman Munson or Mel Ott.

How about some of the living legends out there? You might find an autograph from Ken Griffey Jr., David Ortiz, Yogi Berra, Nolan Ryan, or a number of other stars.

If Prime Cuts baseball doesn’t get you excited, I don’t know what will. While the price may be around $250 for a box of this product, this could be what everyone is waiting for.

Why don’t you check out some more images on the Panini blog?

Preview: 2011 Panini Donruss Limited Cuts Baseball

Well it’s not entirely baseball, but it’s close enough that we will label it as a baseball product. Coming in December, Panini America will be creating the next high-end sports cut-autograph-per-pack product called Donruss Limited Cuts that they claim will change the genre forever. (After Upper Deck’s latest attempt, this shouldn’t be too hard)

This product will deliver cut autographs from some of the biggest names ever in sports, politics, entertainment, and pop culture with single, dual, triple, and quad autographs and cuts from over 140 deceased baseball Hall of Famers. (Hence why I gave this a baseball label) Every card will be numbered to 49 or less with over 200 cuts numbered to 15 or less.

There will be 1/1 booklets of quad cut autographs from some of the greatest teams in history, some more quad and dual autographs featuring some of the greatest teams ever, cut autographs from all time greats like Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Lou Gehrig, Cy Young, Walter Johnson, Jackie Robinson, Honus Wagner and more!

And finally, there will be some cuts from other sports like golf, boxing, football, horse racing, as well as former U.S. Presidents, movies, television, and other pop culture icons.

I really wonder what Panini can do with these resources now and wonder if this can top a product like Legendary Cuts or Leaf’s cut autograph offerings. Only a full checklist will really be able to tell, but at least these designs look fabulous. If the checklist succeeds, this will be the next big thing in cut autographs.

At one cut per pack, the price hasn’t been released yet but I could see this product going from anywhere between $250 – $350. If the checklist is better, even higher.

You can go to the official Panini Peek of this product for more images and information or check out some behind the scenes photos!
