Sports Card Blog – Panini NFL Player of the Day Promotion Week 3

Week 3 is here and with that comes the next contest in line for the huge prizes I will be giving away to the leaders at the end of the season. There is still plenty of time to join in and try and take down the leaders.

This week, I am not very creative. So this has the possibility for a ton of points, kind of like Week 1. Make your picks according to the point spread. Favorite will always be listed first which means the second team will always be getting the additional points.

TIEBREAKER: How many total points will be scored in the Buccaneers – Colts game on Monday Night Football?

This week will test your skills of deciding who will win based on the number of points the underdog will get. You will get 1 point on the leaderboard for every correct answer. If you aren’t doing too well, this is your chance to get back into the game!

And as always, there is a prize for the top score this week. The winner will receive an official Panini NFL Player of the Day Wincraft pennant.

The Sports Card Blog – Panini NFL Player of the Day Week 2 was a dramatic week.

I wasn’t aware of how difficult that contest was going to be, and for that, I apologize. I am going to tweak it up a little bit and run a similar contest like this later in the promotion. So the numbers are going to be a little bit low in this contest. Anyway, here is the week 2 leaderboard:

Week 2 of the Panini NFL Player of the Day promotion is here at Sports Card Blog. Make sure you visit the official NFL Player of the Day website to learn how you can win a day with an NFL player and other cool prizes.

After a great Week 1 contest which came down to the Sunday night game between the Falcons and Eagles, our first winner received a t-shirt and NFL Player of the Day card set. The leaderboards for the big prizes are all updated. I haven’t received the prizes as of right now (very early Thursday morning) but they should be here in the next two days or early next week. But since I know what is in there, I know what I will be giving away this week.

This week’s prize is…well you have to enter the contest first. This week’s contest is called the Offensive Leaders Picks contest. This concept is pretty simple, predict the offensive leaders in all of these stats. Come within a certain amount of the total and receive a bonus point. See? Simple. Let’s get started.

Who passes for the most yards and how many yards? (Come within 20 and receive a bonus point)

Who rushes for the most yards and how many yards? (Come within 15 and receive a bonus point)

Which quarterback rushes for the most yards and how many yards? (Come within 10 and receive a bonus point)

Who has the most receiving yards and how many yards? (Come within 15 and receive a bonus point)

Who has the most receptions and how many receptions? (Guess the exact number and receive a bonus point)

Who kicks the most field goals and how many? (Guess the exact number and receive a bonus point)

Who kicks the longest field goal and how long? (Come within 3 and receive a bonus point)

Tell me your favorite Panini football product for a free bonus point.

Tie Breaker – How many yards does Josh Freeman throw for against the Falcons? If there is a tie, the person closest to the total number of yards will be deemed the winner.

I’ve tabulated the scores so far for this weekend, and it appears that no one can catch the leader for the week with tonight’s football game between the St. Louis Rams and the New York Giants.

Your week 1 winner is Edwin G. aka Biggie! He narrowly edged out both RJ and Michael G. last night with the great Sunday night football game between the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles as he was the only one of those 3 to pick the Falcons.

Congratulations goes to Edwin G. aka Biggie for the week 1 victory. He will be receiving a Panini NFL Player of the Day t-shirt and a set of Panini NFL Player of the Day trading cards. They will be sent out when my allotment of prizes arrives sometime this week, I believe. Even more valuable, he will receive at least 5 points towards the grand prizes!

Don’t worry if you didn’t win. Everyone who entered will receive at least 1 point toward the grand prize just for participating. If you “Beat the Blogger” this round, you will receive an extra 2 bonus points as well. There will be ample time to catch up over the next 10 weeks! So keep on entering every week!

2011 NFL Player of the Day Promotion – Contest #1

This is contest #1 of the 2011 Panini NFL Player of the Day promotion here on Sports Card Blog. This is going to be a “Beat the Blogger” contest in which you are playing against me for points.

This “Beat the Blogger” contest will be simple. Pick the winners of the Week 2 NFL games. Each game you get correct is worth one point for this contest. The winner receives 5 points toward the grand prizes. Second place gets 4 points, third place gets 3 points, fourth place gets 2 points, and everyone who enters gets 1 point.

If you “Beat the Blogger”, you will get 2 bonus points that goes towards the grand prizes. To make things a little harder for me, I must choose at least 3 upsets according to Yahoo! Pick’em. You can pick whoever you want for each game, you have no restrictions.

The prize for the winner of this contest is the official 2011 Panini NFL Player of the Day T-Shirt and a set of 2011 Panini NFL Player of the Day trading cards.* (Subject to change if they change prizes on me since I don’t have them in hand yet)
