Contest! Win A Pair of Autographs!

It’s been awhile since I’ve held a contest…I think since our huge celebration of the 1 year anniversary of the blog. It’s time to give away some more stuff to our loyal readers.

I have for you a pair of autographs from recent reviews. With the NBA Finals about the start and heading into Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals about to occur in less than 24 hours, it’s only fitting that we have one autograph in basketball and one autograph in hockey to give away.

We have a Bob Sura Elusive Ink autograph and a Colin Greening NHL Ink autograph to give away. (Images at the bottom.)

All you need to do to enter this contest is to give me your thoughts on the product each of the cards came from. Please let me know what you think of Panini Past & Present basketball and Panini Contenders hockey. Please post your responses in the comment section under THIS post.

Simple as simple can be. This contest will end in one week on Monday, June 18, 2012, at 12:01 AM PST.

Names will be randomized as always. Good luck!

  1. it is nice to see that some rare autoes makes their way onto cards with elusive ink- the hockey set seem a little jumbled up-

Always nice to see a giveaway…”Just gonna give it to ya”

Contenders hockey: cards look fantastic very simple but well designed. My review on the product may be a little bias because I had no hits from the half box I bought and got all base cards which was a total dissapointment for the amount of money spent on per pack. From seeing in store there are quite a few nice autographs which are done right on the cards on the white space provided by panini. I would give a 3 of 5 Just because of my experience but product does look good.

    Panini past and present
Theae cards are designed to show the difference between vintage cards and cutting-edge print technology. Fun looking cards and bright back a lot of good memories of players I grew up watching in my younger years. Haven’t bought basketball in sometime but the half box I bought a couple autographs inside muggsy bogues, and rod Strickland and a Lebron jersey. Fun mix of new and old. I give it a 4.5 out of 5 for bringing back my youth and being fairly well priced

Past & Present – What a great retro throwback product – next year the set will be that much greater with all those rookies!

Contenders – Such a highly sought after product on ice. Love the hard signed signatures. Excellent product reviews!

  5. Kazi says:

love the retro look in basketball
    love the design in hockey

  6. Dustin Abernathy says:

Always a fan of contenders in any sport. Always like hard signed cardboard. Retro basketball is the right kind of basketball, legends in short shorts.

  7. Shannon says:

Haven’t seen the past n present, but i got a box of the hockey contenders last week and LOVED them, ended up with 4 autos in it and got some great cards, very happy and want more boxes!!

  8. Alec says:

I haven’t heard much about the products until recently, but from what I have heard so far, they both seem like solid products. I’ll have to look into them more sometime

  9. Matt Gilman says:

Contenders- I got 4 hits. Nice looking base cards. Overall a good product

P&P- I haven’t bought much basketball as of recent, but this is one awesome product with its 90’s inserts, autos from not so often hit players, and nice sized jersey pieces in the cards. Love this product!

  10. shawn norman says:

The basketball set is o.k. but i do not collect basketball cards but the hockey set i like alot but i would love to win any auto card.

  11. Contenders has a nice design, the on-card autos are a major plus, the patch/auto combo with the silver signature on a black background is just nails, and there are sweet Getzlafs to chase. That equals a good product in my eyes.

Past & Present has the retro design I generally like and some nice-sized swatches, though the stickers could easily be on-card.

    Thanks for the contest!

  12. Jess Pouliot says:

To be honest with you, I’ve yet to open a pack of Contenders, but as a Sens fan, I’d love that Greening auto! :o) Thanks for the contest!

  13. Patrick McManaman says:

Love the autograph in the Hockey, they look really good. The throwbacks really do bring back so many memories. The cards are really fun and my kids love them.

  14. The autos in Contenders are great

  15. Jason McGuirk says:

I’m not a huge NBA guy but I like Past and Present Basketball design. I’m a fan of Contenders. The overall look of the product is impressive and the booklets are fantastic case hits. Panini did a great job with Contenders this year.

  16. Past and Present IMO has launched Panini to a new level. The inserts and autos are the most appealing I have seen yet in a Panini product:)

While I am not a hockey fan, I must give Panini the credit they deserve for continually making Hockey products that keep new collectors coming in.

  17. I think Panini Contenders is a much better product than Past and Present. Past and Present seemed “cheaper” than their other product. There was really no “wow” factor for the Past and Present. Either way, I am never against opening boxes of Panini Product.

  18. Tracy Leveaux says:

I don’t collect basketball anymore, so I really can’t comment on that card. The hockey card seems nice. I am not a huge fan of Panini hockey. I prefer Upper Deck.

  19. Max Johnson says:

I really like the Panini cards. I just recently started collecting cards again and have been impressed with these. I would love to add them to my collection.

  20. Dan says:

I think that the Past & Present is a great looking retro set, the exclusive autos are an interesting twist, but the price point is high for what hits you get.

I don’t like Contenders hockey at all, too many little known (for me) rookie autos. The patches are pretty amazing though.

Ok Got it! Thank you ! And thanks for the chance!
