Preview: 2011 Panini Playbook Football

A new Panini football product is on the horizon for this season, and it’s 2011 Panini Playbook football. It looks like kind of a mix of National Treasures and Gold Standard as far as the product set up goes, but with booklet cards.

Coming in April 4, 2012, Playbook is a high-end product with 4 cards per pack featuring one on-card autographed prime memorabilia rookie booklet card, one regular rookie autograph, one memorabilia card, and one additional autograph, prime material, or autographed booklet card. You can now see why the name of this product is “Playbook”.

The set is 136 card with 50 common signatures (#’d to 99 or less), 50 rookie signatures silver (#’d to 299 or less), and 36 rookie booklets silver (#’d to 399 or less).

Some of the better hits in this product will be Chronicle Signature Booklets featuring 8 signatures and will be numbered to just 10, Playbook Materials Booklets which will have 8 pieces of game used material, Accolades Signatures which are some of the best veteran and retired autographs in the game, and Limited Edition Materials which feature some memorabilia swatches.

Remember, April 4, 2012, and about $200 for this product.

Look for more details soon but check out this post on the Panini blog for some more information and pictures. Personally, I love the use of booklets here as booklets are becoming ever more popular and a good on-card signature booklet card is a great collectible. Kudos to Panini on getting some on-card autographs for these beautiful looking cards.
