I decided tonight I would share some of my personal favorite sports card blogs and write a little something about them. Most of these blogs have some interesting things about them that make them unique to others out there. Here’s some of my personal favorites for you to check out.
Cardboard Junkie – Dayf is quite the interesting character. He loves his Atlanta Braves, baseball cards, and currently ponies. Don’t be surprised to see a picture of a pony from My Little Pony thrown in there every once and awhile. He has a funny and interesting take on cards he adds to his collection whether it’s a new Braves card or a new vintage card to complete a set. His blog constantly keeps me entertained with cards, ponies, and sketches he does.
All About Cards – All About Cards is one of my favorite places to read reviews of card products. I often compare my reviews to his to see if I am going off the wall on a certain little thing or if I love something a little too much. His level headed approach to reviewing is similar to mine and I find them to be fair and balanced no matter who the manufacturer is.
Mojo Beard – While Kevin has taken the reigns as the person who blogs the most on this multiple authored blog, I like his take on a lot of cards and he always has some interesting perspective on cards and collecting. Every once and awhile we’ll see a post from Mojo or Beardy and that is always a treat that is filled with some humor and fun.
Night Owl Cards – Probably the blogger favorite right now amongst every sports or baseball card bloggers and reader out there, Night Owl has a fascination with baseball cards pictured when the sun is on the other side of the earth. A fan of the Dodgers, he is always displaying new Dodgers cards and new cards he gets to complete his sets. Definitely a fun read.
Field Level View – He doesn’t write as much as he wants to, but his perspective on his reviews are pretty solid. It’s fun watching him on his YouTube breaks getting angry at the card companies for something he feels was slighted in a product, but that’s what makes him good at reviews…he doesn’t hold back.
I would include some manufacturer blogs as well, but we should all know the ones that actually post on a consistent basis. The Knight’s Lance (Panini) and The Upper Deck Blog. I really wish that Topps would post more on their blog the way Tracy and Chris post on their respective blogs, but if I wish in one hand and crap in another…or however that quote goes.
Of course there are more great blogs out there, but I find myself visiting these most often. Strangely enough, most of these are strictly baseball cards blogs but I like their writing styles. For a more complete list of all the blogs out there, check out the official Sports Card Blogroll. You’ll find something there that wets your appetite.
